
Description
Applied research and technical support. This position will lead initiatives in testing materials, providing meaningful data to the marketing team and applications team. Candidates will be responsible for responding to customer inquiries and providing sales support. They will present new data to the market via conferences, trade show speaking engagements and white papers.
Key Responsibilities:
Lab work
- Responsible for evaluation of existing and new technologies in the personal care product range to support BU strategies.
- Experimentation on the bench with conventional and/or non-conventional/creative approaches that will lead to unique product claims and benefits (with new formula bases, raw ingredients and processing techniques)
- Development of new test methods taking into consideration current market trends and competitor claim substantiation
- Evaluation of sensory, stability, and efficacy performance of materials
- Evaluation of product features in-vitro and in-vivo
- Calibration and upkeep of all laboratory instruments
- Ordering of raw materials and keep up to date necessary documentation
- Organizes and analyzes clinical data
- Maintenance of neat and accurate laboratory notebooks and data logs
- Publish findings in trade journals and at trade shows as appropriate
- Prepare detailed technical assessments in the form of reports and presentations for documentation and communication of key developments and discoveries
Support
- Provide technical support and training to sales, distributors and customers.
- Attend and participate at appropriate national/international meetings and trade shows.
- Presentation of results and products internal as well as external
- Participate in external collaborations.
Requirements
Knowledge/ Experience/ Skills required (qualifications, years of experience, training)
- Degree in Applied Sciences (Chemistry, Life Sciences Technologies) with a minimum of 5 years experience in an applications lab
- Emphasis on studies related to Cosmetics or Personal Care preferred
- Good spoken and written English
- Open and creative mindset
- Team player
Interfaces / Working relationships (Internal to organization and external relationships, even how processes are inter-related)
- Works directly with personal care technical services team, research and development and sales to provide support, presentations and training
- Interaction with customers and distributors as needed
Level of Autonomy
- Regular interaction with manager
- Ability to represent company on new business opportunities to the outside world.
